CDDA
Hello you have expressed interest in CDDA and now need somewhere to hide your look of despair and feel confident to play the game. However I still have no clue what to do and I'm looking to hide my despair well hope I'm helping some how.
Now to start off with no game is going to be the same. The worlds in CDDA are randomly generated. I guess before I start to tell you how to navigate and what to do that I know of I should tell you what the game is. CDDA is a rouge-like that has gone rouge. It is classified as a rouge like however its more like a zombie survival game. Now lets get started.
Now you read this far so you must want the game or already have it and are looking for some settings and such. In case you don't already have it you can go here to get it (WAIT KEEP READING!)(choose the very bottom one and unzip it to a folder) or you can get the launcher (Go to the latest release and go down to download and click the exe thing then unzip it to a folder (I might use the launcher but it glitches and semi-unreliable)). If you get the launcher you can get the game by pressing the button that says something like Download. I am using the launcher for the extra stuff like sound packs and mods. Now my screenshots are going to look different if you just jump in right now. I am using a tileset called Xotto (Just press the little download button in the top) extract all of the Xotto things in to (this is after starting up the game so the launcher can make certain folders just press the play button let it do its thing and press either Q not q Q or esc and Y) a folder called gfx. Now I have some mods but most won't affect gameplay however there will be some mods needed to go along with me but are not necessary No nether creatures (Just press the green big Download button and exit any thing it pops up. now if you are using the installer just save it and press install in the mods section of the installer. the other thing that we will be using comes with the game so no need to worry about having to go on to scary sites to get it. Now with everything installed and running lets really get going.

This is the launcher always when playing the game press the update button the devs are really active. Now if you want you can go into sound packs like so

And you can choose what ever sound pack you desire but its not that important just changes what you here for in-game sounds. now go back to the main page and press launch

So you might see you screen is tiny well go over to settings with the arrow keys and press enter. Now you see some options go to well options and press enter

So I bet you tried to use the arrow keys to navigate this menu but it did not work try the < and > keys. The < and > keys are used a lot in the game. Go over to graphics and go down to were It says choose tile set and select either the MXotto (small trees that is if you downloaded it) or the Retrodays 20px or the ChestHole. That tiny screen still bothering you? well keep going down to full screen and press the arrow key. What? you don't want it full screen so you can read as you go that's non-sense. If you don't want it full screened then go up to Terminal width and height and experiment. Now to save the changes and put them in affect press the esc button and the Y button till you end up out of the game. Once out of the game start it back up and see if the size of the game is ok to your tastes.
So if you don't want to go between tile sets and do all sorts of things go here to see a list of all or most tile sets. (Mshock is what Xotto is made from so it looks similar but I like Xotto better)
So after finding your suiting tile set and screen size you should know how to navigate the start menu. If not its the enter key the < and > keys and the esc key and the highlighted letters in the names of the options are the shortcut keys to open the menus such as "M"OTD or "N"ewgame or lo"a"d I think you got it by now. Before we jump into the game we have to make a world. so press W and press enter. Now this menu will pop up.

Check my mod list for a complete list of all mods that I have and the Discord for CDDA to help you find them. I would go off and get all the mods I put on the list and you can join the discord for help finding them and if you want to also talk to me :) (My name on the discord is Seilorks)
Now you got your mods all set up press the > button or if you want the < to go back. Now for the settings look at my pictures and go along

Now remember the settings that I am playing on are only good for starters if you want it to be harder mess around with the settings.
Now press > if you are happy with your mod list and settings and you will come across this

Kinda self explanatory but press * for a random world name or just type one in. now keep in mind the world name does not really do anything to the game just names your save as the world name then the character name that you come up with. so remember the names or just have one world. Once happy press > yeah it takes forever to explain and so little time to actually do.
